Merging Lists

There may be times when you are creating lists and find that you have two or more ordered lists (<ol> tags) or unordered lists (<ul> tags) next to each other. If necessary, you can quickly merge the lists together into one list.

example

Let's say you have two numbered lists, with each list restarting at number 1.

You can make the numbering continuous in those two lists by merging them.

How to merge lists

  2. Do one of the following:
    1. If the tag block bars are not shown to the left of the content, click at the bottom of the editor. See About Structure Bars.
    2. Right-click the ol or ul tag bar of one of the lists.
    3. In the context menu, select either Merge With Previous List or Merge With Next List. The lists are merged.
  3. OR

    1. Place your cursor somewhere in one of the lists.
    2. Click the down arrow next to the List Actions button .

This button is located on the Text Format toolbar. If you do not see this toolbar, select View>Toolbars>Text Format.
