This dialog is used to select a color for a particular element. You can also specify the hexadecimal and RGB (red, green, blue) settings for a color, as well as create a custom list of colors that you use frequently (My Colors).
Displays the hexadecimal number for the color after you select it. For example, the hexadecimal number for "Blue" is #0000ff.
Add To My Colors
Adds the selected color to a list called "My Colors." This is a way to create a list of your favorite colors so that it is easier to find and select them in the future.
Red
Displays the amount of red in the selected color. (Each color is a combination of a certain amount of red, green, and blue.) You can manually change this number, which will result in a different color being selected.
Green
Displays the amount of green in the selected color. (Each color is a combination of a certain amount of red, green, and blue.) You can manually change this number, which will result in a different color being selected.
Blue
Displays the amount of blue in the selected color. (Each color is a combination of a certain amount of red, green, and blue.) You can manually change this number, which will result in a different color being selected.
Pick
Opens the Color dialog, which lets you select a system color and define custom colors.
Screen
Temporarily adds a small bar above the cursor. As you move the cursor over any area of your computer screen, the color changes in the bar to reflect the color that is directly behind the tip of the cursor. When you click, that color is automatically loaded into the Color Picker dialog.
My Colors
Displays the colors that you have added by clicking the Add To My Colors button. To use one of these colors, click it. The "My Colors" list is a way to create a list of your favorite colors so that it is easier to find and select them in the future.
Recent Colors
Displays the most recent colors that you have used. To use one of these colors, click it.
Named Colors
Displays the named colors in the system. To use one of these colors, click it.
Web Safe Colors
Displays a list of web-safe colors. To use one of these colors, click it.
Clear List
Removes the colors listed in the "My Colors" list or the "Recent Colors" list. To enable this button, first select one of those lists.
Remove
Removes a selected color that is listed in the "My Colors" list or the "Recent Colors" list. To enable this button, first select one of those lists. Then select the color(s) to be removed. You can select multiple colors by holding down the SHIFT or CTRL key and clicking in the list.
