Viewing Incoming Links

You can view links pointing to the selected file from other files. See About Analyzer.

How to view incoming links to a file

  1. Open a topic.
  2. Select View>Project Analysis.

The Project Analysis window pane opens.

  3. Click the drop-down menu and select Incoming Links.

The area at the bottom of the window pane changes, displaying all files that contain links to the open topic.

  4. Click on a row in the window pane.
  5. In the Standard toolbar, click the Browse Links button.

If any links are shown (pointing to the file that is currently active in the interface), clicking this button will change the window pane to show the incoming links for that file.

    example

Let's say you are currently viewing the incoming links for a file called "Topic1," and one of the files in the list is "Topic2." That means the Topic2 file contains a link pointing to Topic1. Now, let's say that you click the Browse Links button and the window pane changes, showing a file called "Topic3." This means that the Topic3 file contains a link that points to Topic2.

Note: You can also double-click a file row, opening that file in the interface. This automatically populates the window pane.

  6. To see more of the information in the window pane, drag the divider bar to make the window pane wider.
